In this class, practitioners to will learn tools for develop a healing relationship with mind, body and soul. Join Carol Crawford (Sahejpreet Kaur), certified Kundalini and Hatha Yoga teacher, as she guides you through a series of pranayama, gentle Kundalini yoga kriya, gong relaxation, and meditation. If you have a regular yoga practice, you have probably noticed that the mind follows breath and the body follows mind. Try this exercise when you find yourself in a stressful situation: Purposefully deepen and slow your breath. If possible, close your eyes, focus them on the root of the nose, observe the flow of breath - in and out, out and in. Not only will your mind become more still but your body will respond as well - pulse and blood pressure slowing, muscles relaxing, and nerves calming down.
Chanting (Jappa) is another excellent stress reducer and a great way to relax. Mantras (words or phrases) are repeated - the movement of your mouth, the tongue touching the upper palate, and the accompanying mudras (hand positions), drishti (eye focus) and bandha's (for example, neck lock or root lock) all work together to create a reverberation throughout your body and cells: activating your frontal lobe, stimulating your glandular
system, and inducing peaceful yet energizing sensations.
